Twisting In the Wind

 

Strung out In Florida

I couldn’t find

My self

Lost in the days

Searching for light

 

There I was

Alone

No prayer

Lost in the dark

Lost in the night

 

You called me to

Tears

And asked of my fears

I left you twisting in the wind

Strung out

Like A kite

 

I tore your precious heart

Questioned all your fears

Crying in the night

Strangled lofty dreams

Children were your plight

 

Here we are

Ten thousand miles away

Vanished

Our ecstatic emotion

Return to me

Our fire to ignite

 

My friend

Where have we gone

In the dark

We search for ourselves

Angst fills our soul

Shredded Overnight

 

Taken from my book "Poetic Journey", with my brother's poetry and my photographs.  The book is on Blurb.com.  This is one of his poems from the book along with the photo that I paired it with.   I put this book together to honor my brother's current success and lifelong journey to overcome abuse and adversity.  Why the Inspiration channel?  I thought that it is inspirational to know that light can come at the end of the tunnel, and adversity can be overcome.

I recently published a book with my brother's poetry and my photographs as a tribute to my brother's struggle to overcome adversity.  The book is on Blurb.com "Poetic Journey" by Roberta Kayne.  Here is one of his poems from the book along with the photo that I paired it with.   

An angel brushed her wings to my face
Gentle was the night
She whistled by in the silence of my  heart
She was the wind moving across my body
As she tiptoed across my soul
Chills of extacy raised the hair on the back of my neck and
Swiftly moved throughout my arms
Oooh
I thought she had gone
No, her sweet presence lingers here,
Her scent is on my pillow
Chiding me to be good till her return
Moonlight passes onto sparkling diamonds on the lawn
The sun rose and wrested the dew from the earth
And she lifted my gentle spirit in her hands
And Smiled
