Definitely Time For New Business Cards with a New Photo!

Definitely Time For New Business Cards with a New Photo!

Roberta Kayne 2003I got into the real estate business a little over 9 years ago, and here is the photo that was taken of me at the time.  My hair was redder, I was wearing contacts, and I was definitely younger, but the photographer did his Photoshop thing and made me look even younger than I was at the time.

For several years, the photo worked for me – people told me they liked my photo and that's why they picked me.  But then, as I got a few years older, people would look at me and then look at my photo with a question on their face.

Over the years, I tried getting my photo taken by local photographers for a new headshot, but I didn’t like what I saw, especially me with glasses, so I didn’t change my picture on my card or website, although Facebook showed a different me.

This year, a photographer showed up in our office and took my picture and did his Photoshop thing right then and there so I could see the changes, and voila – a new headshot that I really like.

So I'm finally getting rid of my last box of business cards with the old photo.  I changed my website, and I'm happy with this photo for now.

Hi Roberta,

I think the benefits of having your photo photo shopped is that it makes you look a whole lot better and boosts your confidence. But the bad part is, in reality, it isn't your current look. Our bodies are constantly changing so as we age, we begin to look even older than our photo-shopped photo, even if we never looked like that when the picture was taken so it's very confusing and it makes people think that previous photoshopped photo wa taken a very long time ago, when in reality, it wasn't!

I'm speaking from my own experience of course. I like all of your photos and they all worked out well. Your current photos gives you a fresh new look and it's very professional. By the way, I like your saying, The Fairy Godmother for Buyers - that's cute!!!

Hi Patricia, what you say is very true, and in our society, young looks are often more respected than older.  Thanks for the compliment, too!

All your pictures look good Roberta!  I noticed your hoop earrings have stayed constant.  I'll have to think about that one, haven't worn earrings in years but I like the look.

Thanks Christine!  You are right about my hoop earrings - I am so consistent there. Have a good holiday and thanks for dropping in.

I like this contest so much.  It's fun to see the changes.  And your other photos are nice, but I agree, I like the current one a lot.
